At DocuWare, we take our corporate social responsibility seriously — we believe that the people in our communities are our most important stakeholders. Although we're a global company, our headquarters in Germering, Germany and New Windsor, New York, enable us to serve our local communities on many levels.
Leaving a smaller, temporary footprint on our planet and a bigger, lasting impression on the people around us is part of our culture and how we strive to conduct ourselves as a business.
One of our continuing initiatives is to support local students interested in careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through customized, fully funded educational programs.
We work with the teachers and students of Nora Cronin Presentation Academy in Newburgh, NY to fund annual school field trips, host hands-on tech workshops for the 8th grade girls and are developing an internship program, for those who choose a career in tech to have an opportunity to be a DocuWare intern.
The Newburgh Armory Unity Center was established to address youth education. One of our founders believed that the parents of those youths would value the opportunity to receive a tech-focused education too. In the fall of 2019, we launched a certified tech training course for adults. Once certified, we help them find a job within our wide network of local business partners.
Our employees are always ready to lend a helping hand. From sorting food donations at our local food bank, to building and donating bikes and solar powered toy cars to kids in our community, we are a hands-on team!
Many of our employees volunteer on their own time as fire fighters, animal shelter workers, teachers and more. We commend their volunteer work and support the non-profits that they selflessly dedicate their time to.
We extend the reach of our philanthropic spirit through our global network of 600 DocuWare partners by supporting the non-profits with whom they work. Through them, we can continue to support many of our own core initiatives like STEM education, medical research, sustainable energy sources and more.
We share our technical know-how in Germany through DigiClub, a tech school that was the brainchild of another of our founders. Offering classes on weekends and school vacations, DigiClub collaborates with local schools and public institutes to provide technology training to youths interested in careers in IT. DocuWare employees have fun volunteering here.
